A $250 start is coming soon to fill Medicare drug plan gap
The notorious doughnut hole in the Medicare drug plan soon will begin to disappear. South Dakota seniors will start receiving $250 checks in June as a first step to offset what has been a gap in insurance coverage for anyone on Medicare Part D with mid-range prescription costs. The $250 payments will go to about 20,000 South Dakotans as the first benefits of health reform Congress passed in March.
