The personal finance website looked at five key categories — family fun, health and safety, education and child care, affordability, and socioeconomics — using 42 metricsThree New England states cracked the top 10: Massachusetts Minnesota New Hampshire North Dakota Vermont Wisconsin New York Iowa Nebraska California Connecticut just missed at No11, while Maine ranked 17th and Rhode Island came in at 22. The states named the least family-friendly were (in order): Nevada (41th), Georgia, Arkansas, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Louisiana, West Virginia, Alabama, Mississippi, and New Mexico (50th).
