The Hampshire Companies founder and Chairman Jon Hanson has been named to the New Jersey Hall of Fame. Hanson, a 60-year real estate veteran will be inducted along with 15 others at a ceremony in Asbury Park in May. "Induction into the New Jersey Hall of Fame is the highest civilian honor that our state can bestow on someone,” GovPhil Murphy said in a statement“It's a celebration of New Jersey that inspires the next generation of New Jersey leadersOur inductees remind us how so many of our citizens have transformed the world, and how proud we should be of that fact as New Jerseyans." The Hampshire Companies founder also has held positions as lead director for Prudential Financial, chairman of the Governor’s New Jersey Gaming, Sports and Entertainment Advisory Commission, and chairman of the Atlantic City Development Corp. “My dad built his business and raised his family in New Jersey because it is a place he loves,” Hamphire Companies CEO James Hanson II saidThroughout his career he has tirelessly worked to make New Jersey a better place to live and to do business.” Hanson previously received the BKenneth West lifetime achievement award from the National Association of Corporate Directors.
