Ken Sutton is a former Detective Sergeant with the Delaware State Police and retired as Detective Sergeant.

Ken has held his real estate license for more than 30 years. He spent a majority of that time working part time in the business, while maintaining the hectic schedule of a police officer.

He had been working with his folks as a Manager at Murray's Topside Restaurant and Marina, when he decided to move onto selling real estate in 1972.

As Sussex County was not quite booming at the time of Ken's decision to be in the real estate business, he followed his boyhood dream of becoming a police officer. Twenty-seven years on the force, and again he is back in a real estate office full time.

It was an interest and a career he managed to keep afloat while serving the area as an active member of the community.

Ken has always been an active part time in the business, and he put together some very large, sophisticated deals.

Sutton also takes a different outlook on land use than some others. Running for political office some years ago, he encouraged smart growth. The infrastructure needs to be in place before we keep building.

He also is firm believer that not every stretch of land must be developed. To him "Real estate is a business that is out to serve the public."
