Hello there, I am 1st time buyer for condo so I am
currently going through a financing. I am choosing
between bank and broker. With bank I had some
relationship in the past and broker is the one
recommended by my real esttate agent. Both of them gave
me a full disclosure of all fees etc and I basically
lined up in spreadsheet side by side to see which one
is more favourable for me. Most of the items can be
compared except, there is no loan origination charge in
the broker's list of fees but there is a
administration/underwriting fee by broker. Vice versa,
the bank has a large origination fee at 1% but no
underwriting fee. Looking at these two, and some online
research I see underwriting and origination fee are
different things. I am basically tending to go for a
brokers but is it normally the case there is no
originiation fee by broker? Thanks!
