Staack was born Aug25, 1931, in Norwalk, son of Charles and Hannah Mackie StaackHe graduated from Norwalk High School's Class of 1949 and attended the University of Connecticut Real Estate and Appraisal coursesHe served in the U.SAir Force from 1950 to 1954, stationed in Germany and was vice president of Charles Staack & Sons IncBuilders & Real Estate Developers (later known as STK Corp.) from 1950 to 1999. Staack was a member of the Master Builders of Norwalk since 1956 and a member of the National Home Builders (195-75)He also served on numerous boards of directors, including First Federal Savings of Norwalk (1975-86), Peoples Bank Advisory Board (1986), Norwalk Savings Society (Summit Bank), Shorehaven Golf Club (two terms: 1975-78 and 1989-91), Oak Hills Golf Club Board of Governors and Central Catholic High School Advisory Committee (1985-89)He was also past president of the Catholic Club of Norwalk, and a member of the South Norwalk Boat Club and the Connecticut Juniors-Seniors Golf Association and was Norwalk High School Sportsman of the Year. Staack is survived by his wife, Shirley Smith Staack; daughter, Robin McCaul (Brian); two grandchildren; sister-in-law, Margaret Hines Staack; and several nieces and nephewsHe was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Charles Staack Jr. Calling hours are Monday, June 24, from 4 to 7 p.mat Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., NorwalkA Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, June 25, at 10 a.min StJerome Church, 23 Half Mile Road NorwalkBurial will follow in StJohn Cemetery, Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
