Statewide homeownership contest kicks off in Iowa


The Iowa Finance Authority and Iowa Association of Realtors are encouraging Iowans to vote in “The Meaning of Homeownership Contest” now through July 15.

The Iowa Finance Authority and Iowa Association of Realtors are encouraging Iowans to vote in “The Meaning of Homeownership Contest” now through July 15.The social media contest, which was unveiled in Davenport in May, is designed to highlight the partnership between lenders and real estate agents across the state as well as to raise awareness of the benefits of homeownership.Dave Jamison, the finance authority’s executive director, said the summer contest is “a fun way to increase awareness of the Iowa Finance Authority’s homeownership programs, with more options than ever before, to assist Iowans in meeting their homeownership goals.”Iowans are invited to vote for their favorite contest entry at facebook.com/IowaFinance.Iowa mortgage lenders, Realtors and real estate agents asked their clients for help in redefining what homeownership truly means to themParticipants wrote a word or short phrase that best described their definition on a memo board and submitted photographs of themselves with the words.The entry with the most votes will receive a $1,500 gift card and the lender and Realtor or real estate agent with the most combined votes will each receive a $2,500 community betterment grantVoting is open to the public, and voting can occur once per day per entry. if( showSurvey ) { try { _402_Show(); } catch(e){} } .t402-inline-block, .t402-prompt-iframe-container { z-index: 99!important; float:left!important; width:375px!important; }
